• Always wear safety equipment while performing work or maintenance.

• DO NOT operate the system without all four (4) wedges and four (4) hairpin cotters in place.

• DO NOT operate the system with guide pins missing, bent or broken.

• Keep mating surfaces clean where the flange assembly and alignment plate meet, clean with a wire brush as required.

• DO NOT beat the wedges into place, the wedges only need to be snug and tapped into place.

• The flange assembly must be removed prior to knocking out the refractory bottom to prevent damage to the mechanism.
