Jim Power Named SSRC Materials Manager

February 11, 2015 – BIRMINGHAM, AL – Special Shapes Refractory Co., Inc. (www.ssrco.com), the leading provider of world class refractory products to furnace operators around the globe, announced that it has added Jim Power to the staff at the company’s Bessemer, Alabama, headquarters.

Jim Power is joining SSRC as materials manager after 35 years in the metal packaging industry working for Sherwin Williams, United States Can, and Ball Corporation.

He spent the first 15 years in operations positions including director of manufacturing and plant superintendent. Jim then moved into materials management as production control manager and project manager for a multi-plant ERP implementation.

During his career Jim has developed and implemented programs to improve in time delivery and reduce lead time. Jim is also APICS certified as a CPIM.
